Celebrating 50 years of burn care in 2017, the Bothin Burn Center at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital is the only dedicated burn center in San Francisco and the only burn center in Northern California to be verified by the American Burn Association and the American College of Trauma Surgeons. Annually the 16-bed intensive care center provides treatment for about 500 seriously burned children and adults from all over the western United States. The Center combines the expertise of surgeons, nurses, therapists, pain control specialists, and home care nurses and aides to treat patients from their first acute trauma to their return home.
Timely Giving Opportunity
Now we have the opportunity to name one of the Pediatric Rooms in honor of the Shepherd Family. Jon Shepherd and his wife were critically burned during the North Bay fires. Tragically, both of their children lost their lives. Reading their story, Southern California philanthropist and patient advocate, Connie Frank, pledged $50,000 to the Burn Center as a challenge grant to be met equally by the community.
Please support the Bothin Burn Center today with your gift that will honor this special family and help ensure life-saving treatment for future patients.
