Dorothea M. “Dottie” Dutton’s career is defined by her unwavering commitment to mission-driven organizations and her passion for strategic investment leadership. She began her journey at California State Teachers Retirement System, quickly rising to CIO for Fixed Income, before advancing to senior roles at Delaware Investment Advisors and Scudder Stevens Clark, where she was one of the first women to reach partnership and helped shape disciplined portfolio strategies.

Dottie’s connection to the Saint Francis Foundation spans over nine years, during which she has played an essential role on the investment committee as well as serving on the Audit committee. Her stewardship of the Foundation’s $100MM endowment brought together her financial expertise and a spirit of ethical, collaborative governance – supporting Saint Francis’s mission to improve health and community well-being in San Francisco.

Now serving as Interim President, Dottie draws upon this longstanding engagement to guide the Foundation with acuity and vision. Her investment expertise in helping shape the long-term strategy of the endowment fund reflects a true partnership with the board, staff, and community stakeholders alike.

As a Chartered Financial Analyst and Accredited Wealth Management Advisor, Dottie continues to build on her legacy of service – helping Saint Francis Foundation confidently navigate the future, united by purpose and strengthened by experience.
