Foundation Hires Local Firm in Search of New President
The Foundation Board of Directors has retained Koya Leadership Partners to conduct the search for a new president. Alex Corvin, Principal at Koya, will be leading the effort and welcomes all recommendations of potential candidates or ‘sources’ of candidates. She can be reached at acorvin@koyapartners.com. The goal is to conclude the search by late 2018/early 2019.

Latino Leadership Group Fundraises for Bothin Burn Center
Earlier this year, philanthropist Connie Frank asked the community to match her $50,000 gift to name a room in the Bothin Burn Center in honor of a family affected by the North Bay fires last October. We are pleased to announce that to date we have raised $21,000. Several community members have contributed to our goal, including 16 members of Top Lider, a Latino leadership program in Modesto, CA. The group was tasked with a fundraising project and decided to benefit the Bothin Burn Center, where a member of the group had recently received care.

Unique Donated Artwork Adorns Hospital Lobby
Saint Francis Memorial Hospital is fortunate to have been the beneficiary of a major donation of artwork by Theodore Wores. Wores was a late-nineteenth and early-twentieth century California painter and a native San Franciscan. The gift of 48 works came from Doctors Ben Shenson and Jess Shenson, brothers who practiced at Saint Francis for a combined 95 years. A select number of Wores pieces are now on view in the Hospital’s Drs. Ben and Jess Shenson Memorial Gallery. The Shensons’ cousin Fred Levin, and his wife Nancy Livingston, oversee the Shenson Foundation and continue to support the Hospital’s ability to maintain and display this unique collection of paintings.

Four New Leaders Join Board of Directors
The Saint Francis Foundation is pleased to welcome four new leaders to its Board of Directors.

• Dr. Harris Goodman is the Chair of the Saint Francis Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and the Medical Director of the Hospital’s laboratory.
• Deanna Berzins is a Senior Portfolio Manager with TIAA.
• Dr. Frank Malin is a longtime physician at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, the former Director of Cardiology at Saint Francis and the namesake of the forthcoming newly renovated ICU/CCU.
• Paul Tormey is the General Manager of the Fairmont San Francisco, a longtime partner of the Foundation.

Foundation Awards Nearly $600,000 in New Hospital Equipment Grants
The Saint Francis Foundation has recently awarded more than half a million dollars in grants to the Hospital to purchase: Cardiovascular 3D Ultrasound System, Patient Handling Lift, BK Ultrasound Unit with Floor Stabilizer, Gender Vocal Cord Surgery Equipment, Gurney for GI Lab, and ManoSan for Esophageal Manometry. The Foundation is pleased to support improved medical services for patients through these new and innovative technologies.
